What Is a Retainer?

A retainer is a prepaid service commitment that secures my availability, guarantees priority support, and qualifies you for reduced service rates.

It is not a deposit, nor an escrowed fund. It is a relationship agreement built on trust, designed for serious clients who want high-level, hands-on support in navigating property ownership, renovation, and setup in the South of France.

What It Is NOT

Not a deposit. This isn’t for holding a place or reserving time.
Not held in escrow. Funds are stored in my business account under French law, not a third-party institution.
Not drawn down line by line. This is a full-commitment structure, not a “use-as-you-go” credit line.

What It IS

A commitment by you, the client, to engage my services at a serious level
A guarantee by me, Joe Fansler, to prioritize your work, offer reduced rates, and deliver honest, results-driven support
A simplified billing model where you're not charged for every phone call, every email, or every kilometer traveled — because we’re working at a bigger level together

25% reduction on all services
Priority scheduling

50% reduction on all services
Top-tier access, all-in-one support
Ideal for full-scale projects, second-home setup, multiple contractor oversight, and administrative navigation

Note: These discounts apply only when the full retainer is paid upfront. You are not purchasing €10,000 worth of services at a discount — you are entering into a high-trust service model that rewards your commitment.

🧾 What Services Are Covered

Retainers may cover any combination of:

Property visits, photos, sketches, and local inspections
Project management (pool, garden, renovation, etc.)
Contractor sourcing and accountability
Administrative services (notaires, utility setup, mairie coordination)
Translation, document handling, scheduling
Emergency call-outs, seasonal prep, furniture delivery oversight
Travel, appointments, face-to-face follow-through

All work is discussed and approved before initiated.

My services are guaranteed. If you’re not satisfied at any point, you can stop or pause your engagement.

I will refund any unused portion of your retainer, minus:

Time already worked
Documented third-party expenses (contractors, permits, etc.)
Travel or materials already incurred on your behalf

You will never be charged for something you didn’t agree to.
